Messenger bags for the boys

These messenger bags were made for an order. I did a cute applique and embroidery on each using a mix of fabrics. Inside they have 3 large pockets and plenty of space for books, textas, toys and so on. I really want to make some more of these and will have to get on to it.

Fun felt activity pack

I've been working on this the last few days. It's a cute felt book to keep stationery - pens, pencils, erasers, sketch pads and so on. It's all appliqued and embroidered in felt. I'm thinking about making one to keep sewing goodies in too. More images on flickr

Easter Egg Hunting Bags

What do you make two boys who are 8 and 11 years old as Easter Egg hunting bags?? I made my nephews bags to collect their Easter Eggs every year and now that they are getting older, they wouldn't really go for cute bunnies or chicks anymore so I decided to put Ninja's on them. One of the boys picked the fabrics. They are really simple and they really liked them. When all the eggs are gone they are going to keep their lego mini-figures in them.

Jamie being only 5 doesn't mind cute bunnies so I made the bag above for him. His bag was larger than the other boys but they were too quick at finding eggs so he ended up with the least. In saying that, he got more than enough chocolate!!! I am very sure that this bag will be very full of lego figures as well.

Some More Holiday Creations

It's good when I am on holidays as I actually get to sew. Here is another gnome. This one was for my son. He picked the colours that he wanted. All three gnomes were put out with some Easter eggs on Sunday morning. They look cute all together.

My son got his first wobbly tooth a couple of weeks ago and I thought that is was never going to come out. That was until my nephew Jack accidentally knocked it out whilst having a star wars pool noodle battle last Friday. The tiny tooth was recovered from the bottom of the pool and Jamie requested that I made him a tooth fairy pillow to put the tooth in, under his pillow. This is what I made. I used boy colours. On the back I embroidered 'Jamie's First Tooth 22.4.11'. I was going to write knocked out by Jack but it wouldn't fit.

Cute kitty and rabbit softies

Such cute kitties and rabbits! These softies are made with lovely cotton and linen fabrics. They have been filled with Flossy locks fiber and some lavender. They also have a little bell in them so they rattle when shaken.

These cute softies make for unique baby shower or birthday gifts. They are great for small babies or children of any age. Lavender is known to be a great soother for babies trying to relax and go to sleep. More images on flickr, going in my shop

Storage baskets

I've been working on these this week, amongst other things. I made 4 for an order and 2 are going in my shop. These are so useful to keep things in order, hair accessories, jewellery, stocking, toys, teddies, creams and the list goes on and on! The base is antique linen which has been embroidered and/or appliqued. The baskets are lined with cotton and linen fabrics. More images on flickr

Gnomes in My Garden

I made these little guys for my nephews for Easter. We all like gnomes and I thought that these would be really cute. I now have to make another one for my son today ready for Easter Sunday. I also made all three boys an easter hunting bag. I will take a photo soon and blog them.

These gnomes are made out of linen and felt with applique and embroidery. They are weighted down will some rice filling so stand very nicely. I have some more designs ready to go and am thinking of making some for my Etsy shop.

Totes for a custom order

I made these totes for a customer order. It's funny I've made some many of these bags but still enjoy making them. I love combining the fabrics and seeing the end result which is always different! I especially love the way the Matryoska bags turned out. I may have to make some more for my shop!

My French Cross Stitch

I did this cross stitch from a French book that I brought on French Amazon. I love the book. It's full of different patterns which mostly contain houses. I wasn't sure what to do with the cross stitch once I was done but decided to cover a cardboard box with fabric and put it on the top. I don't know what to put in the box yet but I am sure I will use it for something.

Summer messenger bag

This was made for a special order. My brief was blues and a beach/sea/summer theme. It was a fun challenge for me to make something for a grown up as I've become so used to making thing for kids! I used some antique linen and cotton fabrics of which some are vintage. I then finished off the bag with some hand applique and embroidery. Ireally enjoyed making this bag and may have to develop some more ideas!

25 Cushions!

Then I've been busy making 25 cushions for a lovely lady who has a shop in Hawaii. This really took a while!!! I made them all on antique handwoven Italian linen with appliqued letters and flowers and embroidery. I really like the way the frangiapani cushions worked out! I have more to blog but will do it tomorrow. More images on flickr

More Easter bags and bibs

I've been so busy making I haven't had time to blog anything! So I'll try to get you up to speed. These bags and bibs were made for my dear Australian friend who lives in Florence. She has 8 grandchildren, yes 8! I sent these to her grand kids in Oz for Easter. I hope they like them!
